but I think we are just saying it about Keith Gross because this is a serious revenge seat and he has really disappointed us.

Why, oh why do Democrats enjoy beating each other up more than the Republicans?
Look, it's go time. You've got a perfect storm brewing in Georgia and nationally. You've got key national Republicans who say (I'm paraphrasing) that if the GOP were a brand of dog food, it would be off the shelf in a week. You've got a brewing knife fight in the state legislature, and no Republican came out of this session looking good. And, for the record, Bill Shipp's column aside, the party did an ok job recruiting this year. Did they get a candidate in every race? No. (Did you honestly expect them to?) Did they get good candidates in most of the races they filled? With certain exceptions (jury's still out on Gross, who doesn't seem very impressive anyway), I think they did, and I know that because I've been reading the nominations thread. Was it an A+ performance? No, but it wasn't an F either. I'll take quality over quantity any day.
But to listen to some Democrats in this state talk, we might as well just grab our bats and go home. To quote my current favorite US Senator, that's bullsh*t.
My grandmother always told me, if you can't say something nice, usually it's better to keep your mouth shut. I guess my grandmother wouldn't make a very good Georgia Democrat these days.
Bottom line is this: Do you want to win or do you want to whine and take cheap shots at your own team? The only people who can defeat Democrats this year are, well, other Democrats.

Gross is done.
The above song captures how, I think, the DPG viewed Gross.
Plus it is a heartfelt ballad.

Definitely follow Saxon and Barrow, given the nature of the contests -- both should be close and exciting races to follow.

I've resisted the urge to go into full flackattack mode, but that may yet happen today. Question is where to direct the fire. I'm not convinced this whole things is nothing more than a campaign tactic by Jacobs at this point, but the failure of Gross and his team to hit back is reflective. I want fighters on this list.

I'm in the 38th, so my GE activities will focus heavily on that race.
My primary election focus (meaning now) is on Donzella James in CD-13. It is time for a better Democrat in that seat - we do not have to settle!
I'll need to do more research on upcoming state Senate races before I speak to them. As for the U.S. Senate race, I'll be happy with Rand Knight, Josh Lanier, or Jim Martin. Vernon and Dale do not put a smile on my face.

Keith Gross. Sorry but there is just too much BS surrounding his living situation, his website, his businesses...as Stephen A. Smith said: "if it walks like a duck, and looks like a duck, and sounds like a duck, it ain't a damn mongoose." I think the blame for this fiasco lands squarely on the shoulders of the DPG. They are the ones who didn't do enough research on him and clearly said he has money so he can run. And now its come back to bite us in the ass, on the ONE SEAT WE SHOULD TAKE, NO QUESTIONS ASKED. Whatever.
Sorry if I am a little bitter. I'm pissed about Gross, pissed that PEACH PUNDIT has all the inside 411 (not a Democratic site) and, mad about other things. And I cling to my guns and religion because I am bitter.

CD-10: Bobby Saxon--Great guy, good background for the district, and a halfway decent chance given the craziness between Broun and Flem.
CD-12: John Barrow--I know I'll probably get a lot of crap for this, but John is very good with constituents and has voted the right way on most things. He does not merit the criticism of Marshall.
HD-13: Bob Puckett--enough has been said about him already
HD-140: "Bubber" Epps--Again, also mentioned
SD-2: Lester Jackson--shouldn't have much of a problem, but a great candidate and smart legislator already who deserves to move up

Pat Dooley is taking on "Thunder" Tumlin. (I don't even want to know about the Thunder thing...)
Sherry Jackson, an attorney from Athens, is taking on Cowsert.
If you want an interesting more local race, Sam Hart, a twenty-seven year veteran of the Bibb County Commission, is taking on Charlie Bishop, the not-so-much-loved first Republican-in-forever County Commission Chair in Bibb. Hart is a really intersting candidate. He worked for years with Mercer and has had tremendous success with the Upward Bound program there. If elected, Sam would become the first-ever African American County Commission Chair in the history of the county.
And, of course, Jim Martin, who I am convinced has a shot at Saxby if he is able to win the primary.

And you have Stephen Camp in the 3rd congressional district. His website www.stephencampforcongress.com. Jeff Scott also has a website up. I haven't heard much about Bud Gammon in the 11th congressional district. James Epps I predict will defeat Freeman because that district has one of the highest black voting population outside of Macon.
